The
world must change. Our planet can not sustain a 6 billion
soon to be 10 billion world population all looking to be
consumers like the western world has become. Roughly every
80 pence spent in a capitalist ecomany a litre of oil is
burned, whether you buy petrol, groceries, computers, cars.
Some oil or fuel would have been processed. Take a moment
to think about that.
If capatilsm
keeps forcing the idea "You want this product"
on 6 billion they in countries which cannot see the truth
of western world (truth..ha), those people will want it.
But that will mean more consumers.
The
people that can change and must change our planet's horrible
downward spiral are...us; The guys who hang at the mall,
the clerks, the scienist, the lovers, the haters and you.
We must get our voices heard, don't be muted by a government
bent by companies. Take another thinking moment...done?
If your
thinking "what can I do, I'm only one person"
a great and motivating quote comes to mind. it's from adbusters
magazine.
"If
you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping
in a closed room with a mosquito.."
Where
do you think this came from. It is infact a african proverb.
They seem to have a better idea about action than we do
and they don't even live in the Western World
In the
future how will you explain to your grandchildren to friends
children how a dolphin looked when the trees needed to make
paper are posioned and the nutriutous ground has washed
away in acid rain. The ink needed to print cannot be produced
since there are no oil reserves left. No Fuel no electricity.
Currently this is what happening.
You
don't need to devote your life to one thing, we are not
purists like monks and nuns. You are a balance, like our
planet. Except you shout, cry, laugh and make emmotional
noise when you are tipped too far. Have we learnt to listen
to earths?
Send
me some e-mails about your earthly veiws, I would interested
to hear.
